This is an area to describe the details of the event. Or you could have any information in here really, it just doesn't matter all that much. But the real test of an area like this is how much text it can actually hold. I mean, surely there must be limits. Right? Well if there are we sould probably display a Link Style.

One Minute Ministry

I first want to tell you that God loves you immensely.

Often you may not think so, but it is true. I also want to tell you a brief story...

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, Nobody are all members of St. David's Church.

There was an important job to do - committing our lives to the mission of this church: to know GOD in Jesus Christ and Make Christ known to others. This Fall, Everybody was asked to do it be being good stewards of our church and making a pledge for 2017.

Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody would have done it, but not Everybody did it.

Somebody got angry because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought Anybody would do it, but Nobody realized that Anybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody,  blamed Somebody when Nobody did, what Anybody could have done.

Today, as we approach the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, I am asking you to prayerfully consider your life in this church, the gifts you have been given and how much of God's money that you have that you are willing to give back in the form of a pledge for 2017.

As a member of the Stewardship committee, while making calls to parishioners, I have heard all of the common reasons for not making a pledge or to rationalize a current pledge: My pledge doesn't make a difference. Somebody else has more money and they can take care of it. OR, This just isn't the right time. The list goes on.

What I want to convey is that each year we pay our bills for everyday things for our children and families for gas, food, tuition, memberships, fees and other obligations we make, and many of us don't give much thought that things cost more. Until we come to our pledge to the church. AND we think we cannot possibly pledge more of the money God has given back to HIM.

This year, we are significantly behind getting pledges to add up to where we are budgeting our obligations to our programs here at St. David's, in our community and in the world. As you know, our church depends on our members to pledge so that we can develop a balanced budget. If we have fewer pledge dollars, we need to begin looking at how we can reduce costs by offering fewer programs to our parishioners.

I can tell you from personal experience that each time you think you cannot possibly give more, if you decide to prayerfully consider going outside your comfort zone you will be rewarded significantly with God's blessings in your life.

Today, during this busy season, I am asking you to consider making a pledge if you have not already done so, AND if you are so moved to make a commitment by increasing your pledge, THAT would be fantastic too.

Either of these can be accomplished by contacting the church office via phone at 610.688.7947, or on the website by clicking here.

Thank you for your time and I wish you the Merriest of Christmases.
