Fellowship - 2009 St. David's Fair
Another Fabulous Fair!
The 158th St. David’s Fair & Country Auction…Rain AND Shine! The day started with a thundershower as predicted, but then miraculously cleared up shortly thereafter to bless us with a sunny, warm fair day. By lunchtime, it appeared that the kids sports activities were complete and the families began arriving by the hundreds. To those of you who came out with your friends and family to enjoy the food, fun, games, and treasures, the fair committee thanks you, for you are the ones that help us raise the money that in part goes to help our Outreach Ministries here in Pennsylvania and around the world. There were at least 4,000 folks from the community that came through our gates this year!
To all of you who participated and committed your time, talent and tireless effort to every aspect of the Fair’s success, I thank you! The fair wouldn’t be possible without your tremendous dedication and willingness to volunteer. I am grateful to you all and enjoyed getting to know many of you for the first time.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to my Fair Co-Chairs Julie Lord and Tammy Tucker for working with me throughout the year in creating a fantastic fair day for all. Auction Co-Chairs, Anne Cunningham and Cheri McCaslin, spent countless hours picking up donations (literally), preparing and organizing another exciting auction complete with Fred Wampler encouraging the bidding. I thank you and congratulate you and your committee.
While we were fortunate enough to renovate the fair sheds this year, it challenged us to be flexible and creative in finding ways to collect and store our donations during the construction. On behalf of auction, books, fleas, second hand rose, sports and toys committees who were most affected by the project, we want to extend a special thank you to Matt Grove, Property Manager, and all others who went above and beyond to support the fair.
The fair is a wonderful way to meet people and have fun, while knowing that your efforts are helping others. If you haven’t participated in the past, or it has been awhile, I encourage you to contact Julie Lord so that you can be a part of the 159th Fair!
