Feeding Ministries at St. David’s
St. David's parishioners support three important feeding ministries.
1. St. John’s Church in Norristown feeds over 100 people lunch two to three times a month. St. David’s is one of several churches that supply the lunch program with the food for the hungry and the hands to serve them. Eight to twelve parishioners make their way to St. John’s on the first and fourth Wednesdays of each month with our St. David’s soup and casseroles. New volunteers are always welcome!
Hunger does not take a break in the summer! We have a new recipe for cold chicken pasta salad to serve at St. John's in the summer. Please make this easy recipe (or the traditional hot dogs and beans casserole) and bring it to the church freezer during the summer so we have food to serve at St. John's.

2. St. Augustine of Hippo Church also in Norristown feeds 80-100 people breakfast every Sunday morning. St. David’s parishioners staff that breakfast program several times a month. Six to eight people make their way in the early morning hours to prepare and serve meals to many of the same folks we see at St. John’s. One member of the Youth Group takes charge of staffing the first Sunday of the month. We call this ministry “Hip Hop Hippo.”

3. St. Mary’s Church in Chester, PA runs a food pantry for the needy in Southern PA. Our parishioners fill that pantry with everything from soup to peanut butter. Every month St. Mary’s makes a request for a specific item and every month the St. Mary’s Food Pantry is filled.
