This is an area to describe the details of the event. Or you could have any information in here really, it just doesn't matter all that much. But the real test of an area like this is how much text it can actually hold. I mean, surely there must be limits. Right? Well if there are we sould probably display a Link Style.

St. David’s interest in the Episcopal Church of Cuba began in October 2017 when several parishioners attended a dinner in honor of the Bishop of Cuba at St. Thomas’ Whitemarsh. It was followed by a pilgrimage to Cuba in February 2018 with three other churches from the Diocese of Pennsylvania (DioPA) to visit with the Bishop and learn more about Cuba and its 46 Episcopal Churches.

The Episcopal Church of Cuba received great news in July 2018 at the General Convention in Austin, Texas. By unanimous vote by the House of Bishops, the Episcopal Church of Cuba was re-admitted as a diocese of the Episcopal Church. Cuba was separated from the Episcopal Church back in the 1960's after the revolution. Click here  to read the news release.

About Our Outreach Missions in Cuba

Nine parishioners from St. David’s are traveling to Cuba in January 2019 and partnering with the Clean Water Drinking Team (CWDT) from West Palm Beach, Florida to install three water purification systems. We will share fellowship with local parishes in central Cuba and bring about 50 project Ensonga kits with us for their girls and women. We are working in coordination with the Bishop of Cuba whose vision is to provide purified water for each of the communities where Cuba’s Episcopal Churches are located. While in Cuba, the St. David’s team will look into opportunities to partner with an Episcopal church and do additional water installations. We are working in coordination with the Friends of the Episcopal Church of Cuba (FECC) from St. Luke’s in Connecticut who coordinates all of the efforts of US churches with the Bishop’s office in Cuba.

Next steps

Once we return from Cuba, we will discern our next steps for our Cuba ministry. If you would like more information or to get involved, contact Lois Redmond or Dana Hall.
