Pastoral Care - Overview

The vision and mission of Pastoral Care at St. David's is to celebrate life’s joys and bear one another’s burdens and sorrows in fulfillment of God’s command to love one another as God loves us. We seek to connect parishioners within the St. David's community to provide a network of care in times of need.

Walking the Mourners PathWalking the Mourner's Path
New class begins Tuesday, September 23, 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Harrison Room
This small group workshop runs for eight weeks. It has been designed to assist those who have experienced the death of a loved one to prayerfully transform grief into joyful living. Contact the Rev. Paul W. Gennett, Jr., 610-688-7947, ext. 218, or pgennett@stdavidschurch.org. Learn more about Walking the Mourners Path at http://www.mournerspath.com/.

Beyond the Mourner's Path
Beyond the Mourner's Path is a group comprised of those who have completed the Walking the Mourner's Path course and wish to continue down that path trusting in Christ and in each other. A facilitator is present at each gathering to support the discussions. The topics are chosen by the group. We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers, after 50 hours of training, meet with a parishioner facing life’s challenges to provide Christian Care in a confidential setting. If you are interested in participating in this very special type of pastoral care, or would like to have a Stephen Minister call on you, contact the Rev. Paul W. Gennett, Jr., 610-688-7947, ext. 218, or pgennett@stdavidschurch.org. Further information on Stephen Ministry at St. David’s is available on our Stephen Ministry page and general information on Stephen Ministry is available at http://www.stephenministries.org/.

Devon Manor Ministry
Five teams of volunteers meet for worship on Sundays, on a rotating basis, with Devon Manor residents. The teams lead the Morning Prayer service three Sundays a month and share Eucharist, along with a memeber of our clergy, on the fourth Sunday. Please consider becoming a part of this longtime sharing ministry.

St. David’s Friends
We have many parishioners in the hospital, homebound, or in retirement communities, who would really appreciate an occasional visitor. Be a part of a visiting team, committing anywhere from once a year up to once a month to show Christian love and care within our community.
Coordinator - Jane Allen, pcrotty@comcast.net

Monday FlowersMonday Flowers
Every Monday morning we remove the flowers from the Church and Chapel to take to homebound parishioners. Volunteers are needed each Monday to arrange and/or deliver the Sunday altar flowers.
Coordinator - Corinne Ackerman, momackerman@comcast.net

Christmas and Easter Flower Deliveries
At each holiday, we share the flowers that have adorned the chapel with parishioners that have been homebound or faced a crisis during the year. We invite you to take a couple of hours after either holiday to help deliver flowers and pay a brief visit.
