Who We Are - Strategic Plan May 2008

St. David's Strategic Plan

The Long Range Planning Committee was formed in 2006 under the leadership of Jamie McLane to study the state of the Prish and develop a long range plan of action to take us to 2015, the year of our 300th anniversary. This committee interviewed 70 representatives parishioners, clergy and staff to find out what issues were on our corporate mind. The committee also studied the important forces acting on our parish.

In the fall of 2007, the Long Range Planning Committee conducted all parish and round table dixcussions on three subjects: Values of our parish, Goals for the parish and our Vision for the future. We paid attention to ideas that emerged from these sessions and have incorporated them into our Long Range Plan. The Vestry also conducted its own sessions on the goals of the parish and the specific actions needed to achieve them.

The result of all of these efforts is the Long Range Plan that is summarized in the pamphlet linked above. It is a mark of our parish unity that many of the recommended actions came from all three sources and many are already  underway. The plan recognizes that everything we do starts with worshiping God. From this worship, we move toward caring for each other and caring for our resources of clergy, staff and church property. We then use our corporate strength to reach out to others less fortunate than we are on community, national and international levels.
