Pick-Up for Materials: Sunday, November 22nd
4:30pm on the Narthex Porch

Be a part of this brand-new St. David’s tradition! The Jesse Tree tradition is rooted in Isaiah 11:1: “A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.”

This is an intergenerational event. The pickup before Thanksgiving is so that any families who might be gathering can give the scriptures and/or ornaments to another family member. If that happens, each day the child could receive a phone call from the relative who has the scripture, who would read the story over the phone and/or discuss it. A relative who had the ornaments could mail a week’s worth at a time. It all starts on December 1. The child then colors the ornament and adds it to the tree.

The scriptures have been edited for use with children. Adults may use the citations to look up a more adult version if they wish.
