Last Wednesday I sat in the chapel before the weekly Healing Service at 7:30am. I was looking over the service bulletin and marveling at the beauty of the language. You all know that we occasionally use Eucharistic Prayers from Enriching our Worship, a series of texts authorized by The Episcopal Church’s General Convention in 1998. This makes them accessible, but for most of you, invisible! One such treasure is the A Public Service of Healing. Church Performance

We have opportunities to draw close to God and to offer our lives to God every day, of course, but there’s a sweetness to a season when all of us are answering that call to come to God and to be touched by God. A Future With Hope

A Future With Hope

Christmas is all about hope. When we are little our Christmas hope is drawn to a special toy or video game. We yearn for Christmas to come in anticipation of the presents under the tree. As we grow up, our Christmas hope is drawn to different “toys” and gifts of the day. The different toys and gifts begin to include the hope we give to others by the sharing of physical signs of our love for them. Even the lights and decorations that spring up in these winter days are signs of hope: the hope that Christmas will come and continue to bring light and beauty into our worlds. All through life, Christmas is all about hope.
