A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols

Come prepare your heart and soul for the coming of Christ this season! A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, in the tradition of King’s College, Cambridge, will be presented by the St. David’s Adult Choir, Youth Choir, Children’s Choir, Primary Choir, and Handbell Choirs. The scripture readings, and the carols and prayers which reflect them, follow the Christian story from the beginning of time to the fall, to the promise of the Messiah, and ultimately to the joyous celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This service dates back to the late 19th Century in England, when carols, popular among the people, were introduced into Anglican worship in celebration of Christmas. The King’s College version dates to 1918 and has become the most well-known and beloved.

Reception to follow, and a free-will donation will be collected in support of St. David’s Music Ministries.
