“May small, beautiful things remind you: the little things you do matter, too.” – Morgan Harper Nichols
Dear People of St. David’s,
Since moving into the Old Rectory (Parish House) a couple of years ago, parishioners often ask me what it’s like living in that house. Everyone is curious to know if we are able to keep some privacy or if folks are knocking on the door every day. For the most part, we don’t have many interruptions. Occasionally we will get someone asking for help or a visitor thinking we are the Gift Shop. The reality is we love living in the house. It’s perfect. Before this house, we were mostly living in one-bedroom apartments. As our family continues to grow, this house has been a true gift. It’s only one piece of a 39-acre property that continues to be a gift to our St. David’s family.
What I also tell people about living in that house is that we must be aware of everything that is happening on our campus. If there is a wedding, funeral, or other large event, we have to make sure the dogs aren’t outside causing a raucous. To remind you all, there is ALWAYS something happening at St. David’s. Personally, it’s a great point of pride. When friends and family come to visit us, I like to tell them about everything that is taking place in our church.
To give you a little summary of last weekend:

We are a church with a lot of activity. This is certainly GOOD NEWS. The reality of a church like St. David’s, with so many ministries, is that we need all of you. We need your time, talent, and treasure to help make this place run. We need all of you to help make Christ’s love known in the world.
During this stewardship season that we are in I often hear people say that they think their financial gift is too small to make a pledge, or that they don’t have enough time to offer to St. David’s ministries, or their talents wouldn’t be of any use here. I’d like to use this letter to tell you that they are enough. God has blessed you with time, talent, and treasure that is enough for helping spread the good news of Jesus Christ here in Wayne, Pennsylvania, but also out in the world.
I really want to encourage you to consider making a pledge to help support the many ministries at St. David’s by clicking here. I also want to invite you to our special Stewardship Celebration held in Allen Hall this Sunday, immediately following the 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. services. Your gifts are enough, and no matter how big or small they go a long way.
See you all in church!
Blessings,
The Rev. Thomas Szczerba
Associate Rector
