“As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” – Psalm 42: 1-2
Dear People of St. David’s,
I hope you all are well on these chilly days. I was meditating recently on this verse from Psalm 42, it’s a favorite of mine. The image it brings to my mind is so peaceful and calming. As I meditate I can almost hear these flowing steams.
I want to offer you a quick word about listening. Oh what marvelous things might we be able to hear in this world if we but listen for them.
This is usually something as I move through my days is a bit difficult for me to do, listen. But when I am able and I hear these running waters it is almost as though I am hearing the voice of God. I think what things might God be trying to tell me each day that I don’t take the time to listen to?
I want to invite you today to take some time, listen for your own flowing streams. Listen for what God is trying to tell you today. God is always trying to speak to us if we but listen.
God bless you,
The Rev. Maurice A. Dyer, II
