Volunteers wanted!

Volunteer opportunities at both camps exist for adults and youth (rising 7th graders and above). Please register below.

Youth: Do you need community/service hours for your school, club or National Honor Society? You can earn up 15+ hours by becoming a Counselor in Training. Are you a Middle or High Schooler participating in this year’s Mission Trip or Retreat? Come volunteer as a Counselor in Training all week at Vacation Bible School or Music Camp and receive $100.00 off your trip/retreat cost! Youth must have completed 6th Grade (rising 7th Grade) in order to volunteer.

Adults: Vacation Bible School is looking for adult volunteers to be Crew Leaders. What is a Crew Leader you ask? A Crew Leader leads a group of children of mixed ages, like a family, throughout their time at VBS. Each morning you meet the children in Allen Hall, hand out their name badge, colored bandana, etc. We start off the morning with Sing & Play Splash where we find out the Bible point of the day, sing, and dance. Now we are ready to head off to the different stations, lead by other adult volunteers. After having visited the stations you will come back with your crew to Allen Hall for Fin-tastic Finale. Each crew will have one or two youth counselors-in-training to assist you with the children. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Maria Leal at mleal@stdavidschurch.org.

This summer, St. David’s has two great trips planned for our youth! Both Middle School and High School aged youth are invited to participate in our Service Trip with Mission Philadelphia. The youth retreat, once again to West Virginia, is for our high school youth. For questions about either trip, please contact Director of Youth Ministry, Elliot VanHoy at evanhoy@stdavidschurch.org.

Mission Philadelphia- HS/MS Service Trip

June 29-July 3, 2024

St. David’s is joining forces with Trinity Episcopal Church Solebury to serve in West Philadelphia. Each year Trinity Solebury youth and young adults have worked in Philadelphia’s high need areas to help improve the quality of  life for local residents. For the past  27 years, Trinity Solebury has worked side by side with residents to revitalize their neighborhoods by transforming abandoned lots into green spaces and community gardens that inspire and promote positive human interaction.  Mission Philadelphia forges relationships with these neighborhoods, working together to break down racial and demographic barriers.

The trip will be June 29th-July 3rd and is open to all MS and HS students (Rising 6th – graduating 12th grade students). Students will stay at Bryn Mawr College. The cost of the trip is $150.

We will be returning to stay with our partners at Adventures on the Gorge for events like ziplining, white water rafting, and more.

The trip will be an extended weekend retreat (Thursday-Monday) July 11-15. The cost of the trip is $900 which covers all transportation, food, and activities.

Students can receive $200 off the price of the trip for volunteering at St. David’s VBS and Music Camp the week of June 17-21. Please contact Elliot VanHoy for more info as well as additional fundraising opportunities.
