Serving at Cecil & Grace Bean’s Soup Kitchen

St. David’s is one of several churches that provide meals and volunteers for Cecil and Grace Bean’s Soup Kitchen that operates out of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Norristown. St. David’s is currently serving breakfast to up to 150 people on the first Sunday of each month through our youth ministry, led by the McGroarty family, and the fourth Sunday of the month, led by Ian Wilcox. Children volunteering with their parents are welcome either Sunday.

We meet at the soup kitchen at 7 a.m. to begin preparing meals, we serve the meals from 8-9 a.m., and we are normally finished cleaning up and out the door before 9:30 a.m.

Age minimum is 3rd grade and all youth must be accompanied by an adult (whether their parent or the parent of someone they are attending with).
