Christmas at St. David’s

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and St. David’s is so excited to celebrate the Christmas season with you! Our doors are open to all, so consider yourself invited to join us for a service, concert or event at St. David’s Episcopal Church as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this season!

Christmas Services at St. David’s

Location

We are located at 763 South Valley Forge Road, Wayne PA 19087. The Church is the smaller stone building. The Chapel is the larger building on the hill.

Ushers to Help

Please see any of our ushers for assistance when you come into the building. There is also a greeter at the Welcome Table located near the front doors of the Narthex.

Have Kids?

All children are welcome during Church and Chapel services. Childcare is available at the 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm Chapel services, and there will be a Children’s sermon.

Communion

All Baptized Christians are welcome to take communion. If you would prefer not to take communion, you can remain seated, or come forward with your arms crossed to receive a blessing.

Worship

St. David’s follows the services outlined in the Book of Common Prayer 1979. The services include Old & New Testament reading, a reading from the Gospel, a sermon and traditional communion.

A few more things to note…

  • Handicapped Parking – Our facility is handicapped accessible with multiple handicapped parking spaces available. Parking attendants are available to direct you to our handicapped accessible parking spots.
  • Special Needs – For those with limited hearing, our services are t-coil enabled. Speak to an usher for more information. Our facility is also ADA compliant.
  • Quiet Room – For those who are nursing or who have unruly children, a Quiet Room is available for you in the Narthex. There is a television in the room which will be displaying the service.
  • Dressware – Parishioners of St. David’s dress in smart casual or business casual attire, but please come in what you are most comfortable wearing!

St. David’s Annual Christmas Pageant

St. David’s Hall

The St. David’s Annual Christmas Pageant is a beloved tradition that has been performed for decades, featuring adults and children from the church, as well as live animals! The mission is to provide the children of our parish with a memorable experience regarding the traditional Christian Christmas story.

Longest Night Service

Saturday, December 21st

This candlelit, reflective service is held on the longest night of the year. Eucharist and prayers will help to create a safe, attentive, and sacred space for those who are struggling to feel joy and light, and help us remember that God is with us, bringing us hope, even in the darkest of times.

Handel’s Messiah, Part 1 Concert

Sunday, December 22nd

The St. David’s Adult Choir, Soloists and Orchestra will present a performance of Handel’s masterpiece, Messiah, Part I on Sunday, December 22nd at 3 p.m The first portion tells the Advent and Christmas story through beautiful choruses and thrilling solos. Clair Rozier will conduct with Elaine Sonnenberg Whitelock at the harpsichord.

Christmas Outreach at St. David’s

Help others in need this Christmas! Below lists the outreach opportunities St. David’s offers during the month of December. Everyone’s help is appreciated.

Gift Cards: Help purchase gift cards for St. David’s partners in ministry. Take a red envelope off of the tree and return it to the front office with a gift of $25. Due December 28th.

Gifts of Love: Purchase gifts for children at St. Barnabas Homeless Center. Take an angel off the tree and purchase the listed gift. Please keep the cost of the gift under $35. Please return these angel gifts by December 8th. We have a very tight turn around for these particular gifts! Due December 15th.

World Gifts: Help support children in Cuba, Guatemala and Uganda with a World Gift purchase in someone’s name. Envelopes available in the Gift Shop, Office and Narthex. Due December 31st.

Mitten Tree: Donate new or handmade mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves for children and adults at St. Gabriel’s. Due December 31st.
