Christmas Events
Praying in the Way of Love Through Advent
For the four Sundays of Advent, spiritual director Amy Nobles Dolan and the St. David’s Center for Spiritual Growth will offer a series of guided prayer experiences via Zoom. In this series, we will explore Gospel Contemplation, a way of prayer taught and practiced by St. Ignatius of Loyola. These four contemplative meditations will focus on God’s undying love that we witness this time of year as we celebrate Christmas.
Advent Musical Meditations
Quiet your heart and mind this month each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. with St. David’s Advent Musical Meditations. Set in the Old Church in candlelight, each short Musical Meditation features a different classical musician performing contemplative music in alternation with the reading of scripture, poetry, prose and prayer.
Dwelling in the Dark Together
For the 4 Wednesdays of Advent, join us for a time of exploration, reflection, and prayer around the theme of the Dark, finding ways to lovingly be present to the dark in ourselves, our families, our communities, and in the world. We will read several short essays and Scripture passages, reflect on art, music, and poetry, and share personal and scriptural experiences that connect us to the dark and waiting of Advent.
Lighting Up St. David’s Churchyard Drive-Thru
We will be lighting the trees in the churchyard this Advent and Christmas as a way to let our lights shine during this pandemic. The light displays will shine throughout the season accompanied by Christmas carols playing through our local radio transmitter, 88.1 FM on your radio as you drive through. It’s going to make a wonderful Christmas for St. David’s and the wider community.
