One of the things I love most about summer is how it seems to invite us to slow down. The schedules aren’t quite as full, bedtime becomes more flexible, and there is room for spontaneous adventures, family vacations, and simple moments together. I truly enjoy that “loosey-goosey” feeling that summer brings.
But as summer begins to wind down, I find myself looking forward to something different. I start to long for the familiar rhythm that comes with fall. There is comfort in routine. It gives our days purpose and creates space for the things that matter most.
As families prepare for a new school year and calendars begin to fill, I hope you’ll consider making church part of your family’s weekly rhythm. In the busyness of life, gathering to worship, learn, serve, and encourage one another can become an anchor that keeps us grounded in God’s love.
We are happy to welcome your family back for our Fall Kickoff Event on Sunday, September 13th after the 9:15 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. services. Whether you’ve been away for the summer or been with us all along, we can’t wait to celebrate this new season together. My hope is that our kickoff is just the beginning that you’ll join us each week for worship, Christian Formation, youth group, choirs, and all the wonderful opportunities we have to grow together in faith and friendship. There is a place for every member of your family here, and your presence truly makes our church family more complete.
As we start of the new program year 2026-2027, my prayer is that we all make room not only for homework, practices, meetings, and activities, but also for time with God and with one another. Those are the routines that have a way of shaping our hearts long after the seasons change. I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and walking alongside your family in the year ahead. May God bless you as you begin this new season and may we all find joy in coming home to the rhythms that draw us closer to Him—and to each other.
“After all, while summer is a wonderful season to wander, fall is a beautiful season to come home.”
