Dear People of St. David’s
This is our fourth and final clergy letter done as a video message highlighting our St. David’s impact as part of our Stewardship Campaign: “Christ’s Light. Know it. Share it.”
Why would we give to St. David’s? First, we give in thanksgiving to God for the abundant gifts with which we have been blessed both in our lives generally and through St. David’s. Second, we give to ensure St. David’s continues the worship and ministries that we personally care about so that they’ll be there for us and for others. Third, we give because of the impact of all of St. David’s worship and ministries – even those we are not directly connected with. These videos speak into this third part.
This week’s interview is with the Ineson family of Chris and Kate with their three children. Below the video you’ll find a transcript. This is the fourth and final of our videos.

From their wedding to the baptism of their children, to Trunk or Treat and beyond, Chris and Kate Ineson have continued to grow in the ways they connect with St. David’s community. You might have seen Chris in the Sports booth at St. David’s Fair or seen Kate’s name on the Parish Profile and Strategic Planning committees recently. Listen in to what excites them about St. David’s today and what they’re looking forward to in the coming years.
TRANSCRIPT:
Pictured: The screen brightens to an overhead drone shot of St. David’s Trunk or Treat event. We see vehicles with open trunks and people of all ages in costumes milling about the parking lot as the camera moves towards the Chapel building.
Change to another overhead shot, moving away from the Chapel, closer down to those people milling in the parking lot among the cars.
Change to close up, eye level shot of one specific family in costume, trunk-or-treating together. The father is dressed in a Star Wars Stormtrooper costume with his helmet off and perched on the back of a stroller holding a toddler in a pink parrot costume. Mom, in a zebra-print onesie costume with the hood/head down, tends to a pre-school daughter wearing a cream jacket over a blue Princess dress.

Change to this same family is now seated on a striped sofa in an office, in front of a window with blinds. There is a bookcase to the righthand side and a sofa table with a lamp to the left side. A young elementary-aged boy with blonde hair is seated on the left, wearing a Star Wars Mandalorian costume without the helmet on. In the middle a young, blond pre-school aged girl is dressed in a blue princess dress and is seated with her mother, who is wearing a zebra onesie costume. To their right the father is seated, dressed as a Star Wars Stormtrooper, with the youngest daughter, dressed in a pink and yellow parrot costume, on his lap.
Chris Ineson: We love St. David’s. Our favorite thing about St. David’s is the family service. It’s a great way to get all of our kids involved. They’re part of the service and it’s a great way to teach the kids about God and Jesus and to incorporate it in a friendly environment. It’s okay to be loud. It’s okay to be, you know, having a rough morning and we can still enjoy and celebrate together.
Lower third text pops up: The Ineson Family. Chris & Kate. Will, Kelly & Nora.
Kate Ineson: Hands down. My favorite part about the Family Service, I think it gets me every time, is when the children do the prayers. It’s a beautiful exercise to see what’s on these little people’s minds. How they think about God, how God has entered their lives. So, I’m always very humbled by that. And it’s really one of the best parts of my week. I love it.
Chris Ineson: And you know, it’s not like every week is a production, but the weeks that, you know, do have like a really prop intensive story and to watch the kids just faces light up that they really get to be involved with the service and act out the parts, it’s it’s special.
Kate Ineson: St. David’s continues to be the community that I never knew I needed, and what I mean by that is just my relationship with the community and what we have gotten from it has changed so much. Chris and I were married here 10 years ago. You know, our youngest have been baptized here. We’ve received pastoral care when Nora was born. That was really a wonderful experience. The family service entered our life when Will was about four, and Kelly was just three months old. And now it’s it’s just neat to see how just our relationship with the church has deepened so much.
Chris Ineson: I’m personally excited for kind of the direction that the men’s group is heading in. Eric Stetson has been phenomenal at trying to like recruit younger guys, so I’m excited for the future of just getting some younger men together to join in fellowship.
I’m excited to rejoin the Fair in the future, and as I enjoy helping prep for the Fair. But I think most importantly just that our kids will continue to grow in St. David’s in the church community. Because as they say, it takes a village.
Kate Ineson: And I think the thing that I’m most excited for is just to see what everyone’s gonna do together. We’ve become more active at St. David’s in the last five years, and it’s been so neat to see new people, newcomers join us, that have wonderful ideas, and then we’re very lucky to have folks who are so tenured in the church community and they teach us a lot too. So, I think it’s a unique time. We’ll have, we’ll have the two blending of lots of folks to do great things.
[Kate turns to speak to her pre-school daughter, Kelly, who is seated on Kate’s lap]: What else do you like about church?
Kelly Ineson: The candies.
Kate Ineson: The candies, and the cookies?
Kelly Ineson: Yes.
Kate Ineson: Yes.
