Dear People of St. David’s,
I walked outside on Wednesday morning to take out the dogs and smelled something I haven’t smelled in a while: the crisp, cool, and refreshing fall air. Now, I know that fall doesn’t officially begin until September 22nd, but there is something different about the air when the temperature drops a little, the humidity subsides, and the mornings and evenings carry a cool chill that wakes you up. It reminds me of the start of school, football season, and most importantly, the beginning of a new program year in the church!
It’s such an exciting time to be at St. David’s! There is so much newness and excitement in the air. This weekend, we have our Fall Kickoff Brunch and Open House, featuring a wonderful breakfast prepared by our Men’s Fellowship, along with opportunities to sign up for our programs and learn more about St. David’s. This fresh fall air also reminds me of our St. David’s Annual Country Fair! I can’t believe this will be my fifth Fair with you all (I have the fridge magnets to prove it). The Fair really is the event that brings our entire community together. It’s the one time all year that parishioners from our different worship services and ministries come together for a common cause in supporting our outreach partners. We need as many people as possible. If you haven’t signed up, please do so here. We need YOU!
It’s an exciting time to be a part of this community. We are a church on a mission to know God in Jesus Christ and make Christ known to others.
