Walking the Labyrinth
Add another tool to your spiritual and prayer toolbox by learning to walk the labyrinth with trained Labyrinth Facilitator, Louise Haley. Louise is offering group labyrinth walks on the third Thursdays of the month this summer at various local church labyrinths.
The Labyrinth has been a used as far back as the prehistoric period. Unlike a maze, there is only one way in and one way out. Metaphorically, it is the journey, the path we take throughout our life. A Christian walk uses the labyrinth to move on a specific path with a specific intention or thoughts of reaching the center of the labyrinth, symbolizing the center or the God within each of us. When we reach the center, we spend a few minutes mediating about who we are at the center of ourselves. We go back the same way, reflecting on our walk and our centering.
Each walk will be held in the evening, shortly before the sun goes down, taking advantage of this quieter time to meditate. The walks will be held at a different location each month as below. Please plan to meet in the parking lots of the first two locations; it is also suggested to bring a folding chair those weeks.
These events are FREE to attend, but please RSVP by two days before so that we can expect you.
